Oval Mahogany Pembroke Table

Mahogany Pembroke Table

Oval topped table with drop-leaf flaps, a single drawer and straight legs. One drop leaf is darker than the rest of the table due likely to being less exposed to light than the other parts.

English, c. 1880

W 28.5″ x H 28 x L 18″ (with leaves down), L 37″ (with leaves out)

The name “Pembroke” is assumed to have derived from the English aristocratic family of Pembroke. It’s believed that one member of the family—most likely Henry Herbert, the 9th Earl of Pembroke—commissioned the table at some point during the 18th century.
