Lady’s Writing Desk – $3,100.00
English Ladies Writing Desk. These were originally made in France and known as Bonheur Du Jour which literally translates to “happiness of the day” for the reference to the joys derived from letter writing. Generally these desks had a lower drawer, a writing top and an upper case also with drawers. By the mid-1770s they were also made in England and then referred to as lady’s writing desks.
This lovely desk has an arched top, two petite drawers, a leather writing surface and a single drawer below.
